So...things can always be worse but right now I'm frustrated with Daniel for going too fast on a dirt road. He had the car to drive to the college yesterday as his brother was working and I didn't want to come and pick him up. He decided to go to a friends house (didn't call to let me know) and finally came home around 10:30 last night. After he got home he let us know that he was going a little fast on a dirt road and ended up losing control and ran into a pinon pine tree. He said there wasn't much damage to the car and it wasn't that bad. He was pretty shaken up and said that the light covering was damaged just a little and shouldn't be too bad to replace. I was so upset with him as he is such a new driver and what was he thinking not going slow on a dirt road, especially with him being a new driver and all. He said he knows and is so apologetic about this. He feels so bad and I told him that I was angry and would get over it but for now I was angry. I worked so hard last night on getting over it and was lying down and realized that he is more important than any car and it could be worse, he could've rolled it or hit someone else or some such thing. So crazy!!! I was so upset and still am...especially after I saw the damage on the car...it was a bit more than he said it was...the light cover is almost all gone and the scratches on the side and the window are a lot. It could have been worse but darn...it shouldn't have happened at all. I told Daniel that I understand it was an accident and those happen with even veteran drivers, but darn it...it upset me that he did it anyway. He feels so bad and realizes that it's a good lesson learned and he will be more careful. I had to stop being upset and give him some comfort as he was having such a hard time.
I know that he will be tested as he gets ready to go to the temple and leave on his mission so I'll have to pray extra hard that we all can get through this. I'm so grateful that he is going on his mission and we get to have these experiences! :)
By the way...Daniel will be going to the temple June 6th and I am so excited that I get to be there with all of my children! What a blessing!!!
