Watching a Movie

So I am sitting here watching a movie with Daniel and Chuck and I have to be on here as it is so suspenseful that I can't watch it...I do not like movies like this and have to have something to keep my mind off of the suspense.

We have Renn Faire rehearsals tomorrow so I can't stay up too late but I will do what I can to watch this movie. So...we'll see how it goes. lol

Otherwise I have had an okay day and enjoyed going to Costco with Christina for a little while. I love to spend time with my family so that was pretty fun and I got to see my sweet grandchildren. Ray was so sweet and tried to help me get Catherine's computer working, can't get the monitor to agree to the computer so we have to try another monitor. In whole it's been a pretty good day.

Off to the movie...I'll try to concentrate on it some more. :)

Getting ready for the day

Some days are easier to get ready for than others. I think we all find that. I am thinking too much right now and trying to process through the things I am thinking about. It's such a drag to think too much about things that happen. This too shall pass...it always does, but in the meantime it sure isn't too much fun to get through. I know that I will though and I am so grateful for my Father in Heaven and the love that he shows me. I am so grateful for my wonderful family and all that they do for me and the support that my family is to me.

Another day

So...I am feeling better and the dizziness that I felt yesterday is pretty much gone, thank goodness. I am glad that I am better, it stinks to be sick, but we all know that.

Tonight we aren't have presidency meeting as the president is with her son at the hospital. He had surgery today and is doing fine and that's what is important, that he is fine. What an answer to prayers.

I am so grateful that the Lord watches over me. I have had some challenges lately and it's such a feeling of comfort to know that my Heavenly Father loves me so much and cares about me. It is such a feeling of peace after I get through the feelings of upset that I have to process through. I love my Heavenly Father...he is so amazing!

What a day...I'm dizzy!

So, yesterday I was dizzy...don't know why. I figured I would go to bed and wake up fine, nope, still dizzy. I was sitting here thinking about work and got up to go and get ready and there we go again, dizzy. I don't know why I am a dizzy dame today but I am so I called in and am staying home to hopefully get over this feeling of dizziness. I figured I could go in to work but would have a hard time so I had better stay home. Meanwhile the boys are off to college for the day so it will be pretty quiet around here. That's okay though...I need to rest and get over this. At least it isn't too severe like a friend of mine has it.

This too shall pass, right? :)

Baking Cookies and Happy St. Patricks Day

So, last night I was busy making sugar cookies for my boss. I brought in decorations for St. Patricks Day around the first of the month and my boss asked me if that meant we would have cookies shaped like shamrocks with the sprinkles on them. I laughed and told him that I would make him those cookies but with my recipe as they would be better than the store bought ones.

I have such a good sugar cookie recipe that I got over 24 years ago from a sweet lady in Colorado. I LOVE it so I can't make them very often. With homemade frosting, YUMMY!

Anyway...my mouth is watering thinking about them in the other room. It could be hunger though as it is breakfast time...hmmm...anyway...

I got to work yesterday and realized that I hadn't made the cookie dough yet and I probably would have forgotten to make them. That would have meant tons of teasing from my boss...I've known him for about 17 years now and have worked for him for a little over a year now, he's a good guy. So, I wrote a note to myself to remember that I had to make them. I got home and mixed the dough and had to let them chill. I decided about 9:45 last night to roll them out and get them started. Late, I know, but I figured I could get a couple of batches made before getting to bed. So...I decided to make a batch with the sprinkles on them and a plain batch so I can frost them. They are best with frosting, just extra yummyness!!! I got two batches done and it was time for bed.

I must say that I woke up thinking of those silly cookies and how I still have to make some more this morning so there are enough for all of the officers, I'll put theirs in individual baggies...but they are so good. I got up earlier than usual and am here on my computer instead of finishing making those cookies. I'll finish them soon...just had to share my cookie story.

So...Happy St. Patricks Day to one and all. Off to enjoy some more delicious sugar cookies!

Life...

So, Michael figured out that our dear sweet Izzy has a lump in her shoulder and we think it may be a tumor. She is about 9 years old now and has been having some problems the last few months with limping. She seems to be getting worse and we have been worried that she isn't going to be with us much longer. She is Michael's dog and we all love her so dearly. We'll have to see what happens with our dear girl.

Last night before going to bed Chuck's blood sugar crashed...it was at 42 and he was getting dizzy and felt like he was going to pass out. His heart was racing too...it is so scary when this happens. I told him if he ever passes out we are calling 911 as there isn't alot I can do if he is passed out on the floor due to his blood sugar being so low. I love my husband and plan on being alive with him for many years to come...his body needs to figure out that one now. He's okay this morning but it sure makes for a scary night when that happens. At least he is aware and tries to make sure it doesn't happen. It usually happens at night so he has to be extra vigilant. Thank goodness he is.

Today is the beginning of another week and it should be fun. Off to get ready for work.

Happy 5th Birthday Alex!

That's right...it's my grandsons 5th birthday today...can you believe it? I can't believe how quickly time flies, but I already know because my children are all grown up. Back to Alex though.

I remember the day our sweet little grandson was born. He's our first and it had been such a roller coaster ride that whole week before with Christina having such problems with pre eclampsia and worse. Alex was 2 months early and only weighed 3 lb 11 oz when he was born. He was a c-section and I waited anxiously outside the surgery room for Christina while Alex went with his daddy and other grandma over to the NICU. I got a quick glance at him as they took him by in his incubator and he was so beautiful...my new little grandson. I was a grandma! I was so excited!!!

I will never forget the first time I got to hold this precious little man...he was so tiny, so absolutely tiny, but immediately had my heart wrapped up in him. He was so strong and did so great, he never had to be intibated and was breathing on his own. He is so dynamic and is such a strong spirit...we ADORE our incredibly joyful Alex! He was in the NICU for a month and we were so incredibly happy when he got to come home, somewhere around 4 1/2 to 5 pounds, Christina knows for sure. It was so awesome to be able to hold this tiny little man with this huge spirit and be able to just sit and love, love, love him.

He is so incredible...he is so smart...he was looking at books and loving them from about 6 months on. He has known his letters since he was around 2 years old. He is so intelligent and has always drawn the attention of anyone around him. His personality is HUGE and he has always enchanted those that meet him. His smile lights up the room and his enthusiasm is so contagious. He has a love for life and is just so amazing!!!

I am so grateful to have such an amazing, wonderful Alex in my life.

Words do not adequately express the joy that I find in having such sweet grandchildren, all three are so beautiful and amazing. They truly are the reward for having such great children. I am so grateful for all of my beautiful children and the gift of grandchildren that Christina and Ray have given to me.

So...here's to you Alex, on your special day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!

An Update on the last few days...

It's been a little while so I thought I should put an update on my blog.

Last Saturday we went down to faire site and were there all day while Chuck worked on building on the site and I manned the bake sale some. I left feeling so excited as I get to put on my beautiful new faire dress this Saturday...I am so excited. Anyway...Chuck and I went to dinner at a great new place called "El Ranchero" off of Summit...we love their food. Then we came home and I got to work on my dress some more.

Sunday we had stake conference and had to travel out to Barstow for that but we did it...even though Daniel slept for the first hour and we were so tired due to the time change.

This week has been full of work and getting my dress done so that I am all ready for the costume approval this Saturday that we get to do. I look forward to that...did I say how beautiful my dress is? :) I will have to put it on and take a picture of me in it...soon.

More work on my faire dress

I am so excited...I went to our friends house and got more work done on my faire dress. It is coming together so beautifully and I am at the point now where I can finish everything here at home. I will be eternally grateful for our friend, Mary, for all of the help she gave me to make such a beautiful dress. It's so cool because she can just cut out a pattern and have it right...she has such a talent, she so totally amazes me. She is just such a good woman and I am so blessed that she is a part of our lives. We have known Mary for at least 22 years now and she is just a good, good woman. I will have to post a picture of my beautiful dress when I get it done. I'll put it on and show it off on here...can't wait!!!
